Amsted Rail Introduces New Telematics Company at RSI 2008

WEST CHESTER, Pa., September 21, 2008 — In response to the rail industry’s growing demand for asset monitoring technology, Amsted Rail has launched IONX LLC, a company that specializes in ultra-low power telematics technologies and solutions. IONX will debut at the Railway Supply Institute’s Global Railway Tech 2008 convention as part of the Amsted Rail exhibit (booth #1201, Northwest Hall), with its flagship product, the IONX Edge™ asset monitoring system.

Amsted Rail founded IONX to provide remote tracking and condition monitoring of freight car assets globally, using ultra-low power telematics solutions. Further distinguishing IONX are its unique wireless sensing capabilities, coupled with the ability to translate real-time data into actionable messages to enhance safety, performance, lading protection, and asset utilization.
